Eldhraun

Eldhraun, a lava field spanning 565 square kilometers, is a result of a historic eruption in Lakagígar in 1783. This event, one of the largest on earth in terms of lava eruptions, caused great devastation and resulted in tens of thousands of deaths in Iceland and western Europe.
