Hvítárnes
Here, under an ominous sky, is the oldest of the chalets belonging to The Touring Club of Iceland (Ferðafélag Íslands); it was built in 1930 but is still in good condition. The campers have nevertheless chosen to pitch their tent on the bank of the river Tjarnará and enjoy the silence of the wilderness.

Í Hvítárnesi á Kili stendur elsta sæluhús Ferðafélags Íslands undir kólguþrungnum himni. Húsið er reist 1930 og ber aldurinn vel. Þessir ferðalangar hafa þó frekar kosið að tjalda á bakka Tjarnarár í öræfakyrrðinni, frekar en að gista í húsinu.
