Dimmugljúfur
Dimmugljúfur (Dark canyon) is located below the dam at Kárahnúkar, which is the biggest power plant in Iceland. Before the building of the dam, a big glacer river was flowing in the canyon, Jökulsá á Dal.
Now only small pools are left coming from the walls of the canyon, most of the year.
But the canyon is beautiful and the colors and the abstract forms in the walls are incredible.

Dimmugljúfur eru rétt fyrir neðan stífluna við Kárahnúka. Áður en stíflan reis, rann þarna stór jökulsá, Jökulsá á Dal. Nú eru aðeins eftir smá pollar og sytrurnar úr berginu, meirihluta ársins. En gljúfrið er fallegt og ótrúleg litadýrð og form í gljúfurbörmunum.
