When heading towards Kerlingafjöll you pass by a waterfall called Gýgjarfoss. The waterfall is in a glacier river called Jökulfall which originates in Hofsjökull. Although not particularly high the force of this beautiful rusty brown waterfall should not be underestimated. In the background are Kerlingafjöll (geothermal mountains).
